From the mid 1940s to the early 1960s, Paul Bransom was a regular contributor to Sportsman's Calendar published by the Seagram Company. The photo above taken by Tom Weber, who was hired by Seagram to take photos to be included in the calendar, shows Bransom at work on the picture of a charging Grizzly Bear entitled Charge comes from the 1945 calendar.
The image would have been created the year before. Invoices regularly are dated in June or July of the previous year. He would usually contribute two pictures each year. He was paid $1,000 per image. The dates listed are for the year of the calendar.
